[livejournal.com profile] yolsaffbridge has come to visit me, which means it was finally time to open the packaging on the Lt Col Sheppard action figure I got for her.

Original, non-Field Ops Sheppard comes with a lemon. A. LEMON.

We decided to introduce Lt Col Sheppard to my Field Ops Sheppard.

Needless to say, the sparks flew )

I signed up for the Totally Unofficial Someecard Challenge, in which [livejournal.com profile] hackthis assigned someecards.com e-cards as prompts. Here's mine. And here is my story.

Title: It's Complicated [Off-site mirror here]
Fandom, Pairing: Stargate: Atlantis, McKay/Sheppard
Rating: PG
Word count: ~2,500
Spoilers: Set around season 2, with passing references to minor bits of information we find out in 3x15 "The Game" and 4x13 "Quarantine."

Read on )

Here's my usual transcription-heavy non-analysis which will probably only be of interest to you if you did not see the episode yourself.

4x15 Outcast )

Silly, but therefore thoroughly enjoyable. And the gods of old confirm something about John we've known for a long, long time.

4x14 Harmony (*****) )
zelempa: zelempa classic (Default)
Oh, Lord. What have I become? What have I become that I think "This would be the worst idea ever," and so I write it?

Missing scene from (and therefore spoilers for) SGA 4x11 "Be All My Sins Remember'd."
Rodney/Fran (!!), G, 500 words, unbeta'd.

Why don't people understand my intentions? )

[livejournal.com profile] tianostra pointed out that there are some very good accessibility type reasons why some readers prefer to have things in lj, rather than off-site, if at all possible. Since my most recent story is short enough, I've reposted it under the cut for anyone who prefers not to surf elsewhere.

For those of you who've already read it at my site: nothing new here, sorry.

With Replacement )

Wow, a jillion posts yesterday, and today I'm posting a fic. Because Sunday is the best day to do that.

With Replacement
Fandom & Pairing: SGA, McKay/Sheppard
Word Count: ~4,900
Rating: Oh, I don't know. I hate letter ratings. "Mature audiences," let's say.

"Sheppard," Rodney said, carefully maintaining composure, "have you considered the possibility that you might have an exact physical double?"

"So what else would be new?" came Zelenka's muffled voice.

Christmas has come and gone, which means it's officially safe for me to buy things for myself. Like this.

The gift of Sheppard! )

BUT. Go to [livejournal.com profile] anatsuno's latest entry.

yolsaffbridge: wow is that seriously him?
zelempa: it looks like him
yolsaffbridge: and weirdly like cillian murphy
zelempa: yes. that is why I love
yolsaffbridge: that doesn't seem like his mouth
zelempa: the further back you go in time the bigger his mouth gets

Guess who got a superawesome nondenominational holiday present? Zelempa did!

[livejournal.com profile] yolsaffbridge podficced my SGA fic, Rock, Paper (No Scissors)! It is available as mp3 on a new podfic page made for the occasion, which you can get to by clicking right here. Hearing someone else read something you have written is both delightful and slightly discomforting (in a good way).

ETA As Y never updates her journal, I guess you should feedback here, if you want to! She'll see it. I'll start you off. Yolsaffbridge has done the impossible in reading, clearly and pleasantly, a story which, as it turns out, is about 90% meandering garden-path sentences with twenty thousand clauses apiece, because, apparently, that is how I write. (See what I did there?) Also, while she's mostly American-sounding, she has a charming hint of an accent which is just enough to keep you guessing if you don't know, as I do, that she is Vulcan.

ETA ETA It should work for real now. :/

Speaking of presents, I totally forgot to mention that I got an ADORABLE Lorne/Parrish comic for [livejournal.com profile] sga_art_santa. Check out The Seed!

zelempa: I need
yolsaffbridge: YOU need
zelempa: to stop typing so much SGA related stuff
yolsaffbridge: but i love it!
zelempa: I was just labelling my Christmas carols on itunes
zelempa: and I typed "While Sheppards Watched"
yolsaffbridge: yeah, ok, point

It could happen. There have been multiple Sheppards on several occasions.

Much of what I do at work is routine, and I used to do things like fill in 10 lines of spreadsheet and then read a scene of slash, BUT I just downloaded some PODFICS and now I can *work and hear slash at the same time.* (a) Why did I not do this sooner? (b) I love technology.

So far have listened to [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's MVP read by [livejournal.com profile] zoetrope, and it's just delightful (cliquez ici). I've read the story before and it's one of my favorites, and Zoetrope has a lovely voice and does a great job.

It'll be hours and hours before I'm out of Cesperanza stories to read, but I did listen to all of the Savage Lovecast archives in a matter of days (how comes everything I listen to at work features repeated uses of the word "cock"?) so if you have favorite podfics, feel free to rec them for me.

I wrote a Sentinel recap! I did! But my website won't let me upload it!

In the meantime, here's the bullety recap of the latest SGA. I was playing Scrabble while I watched and wrote, so it may not make sense. Or be accurate. Overall, I found this episode slightly philosophically annoying and, more importantly, a waste of a perfectly good premise. It's been done much better in fic.
