It's the Nightrunner series of Lynn Flewelling and Maurice by E. M. Forster - the order on the shelf was just alpha by author, but it happens to be four textually gay novels in a row.
Oh, thank you! E. M. Forster was one of my most favorite authors when I was little (that means, in college)! But I've never read anything by Lynn Flewelling (possibly because it's scifi? is it scifi?). At any rate, I'm going to look up the Nightrunner books on amazon dot com....
Love, max P.S. If they're not any good, let me know so I won't be tempted to buy them!
The Lynn Flewelling books are fantasy. They're mediocre at best, writing wise, but they are very very very VERY gay. So, I found them well worth reading, but they're certainly not masterpieces of literature by any stretch of the imagination. They're sort of fun, plotty, emotional, angsty fantasy stories with a gay main relationship instead of a straight one.
If you end up liking them, you may want to check out Carol Berg's Transformation series, and Storm Constantine's Wraeththu for more fantasy gayness (they're not the only ones, but I find them very readable).
