Three more things

1. YULETIDE STORY IS UPLOADED. Man, that's a load off. Even though I'm extremely ambivalent about how it turned out. (Confidental to
mab_browne: Thankfully, though, I ended up cutting most of the second half.) This brings me up to 10 in 2008. Can I write two more stories in the next 11 days? Time will tell!
2. A new set of mini-recaps for your persual, if you're into that kind of thing:
Red Dwarf, Series 5-8
3. Another new set of mini-recaps, ibid.: Criminal Minds, Season 1

Don't Think About It Or Your Brain Will Explode: Lister realizes that he is his own father. Kochanski is totally erratic: after getting a chance to go back to her own universe, she suddenly announces "I've decided to stay!", and risks her life to go back to the crew she doesn't like as much and who don't like her as much and who are clearly worse. And then she spends the rest of the series moping about how much she misses her universe and her Dave. Also, Lister realizes he is his own father. In this episode, Lister realizes he is his own father.

Hotch knocks Reid down and kicks him savagely in the stomach while yelling at him unnecessarily. Turns out it was a gesture of ultimate trust and confidence: he was manipulating the physical configuration so that Reid could get close to the weapons and get a clear line of sight to the killer. Reid nails the shot to the killer's head (though he claims he was aiming for his leg). When, at the end of the episode, Hotch gives Reid a cursory apology, Reid immediately accepts, possibly (and I may be projecting here) because the whole Hotchellus thing was kind of a turn-on.

on 2008-12-20 05:21 am (UTC)Still, everything Rimmer says or does is hilarious. Chris Barrie is great no matter what material he's given to work with. And the Rimmer-centric episodes in s.5-8 were still good. My personal selective canon is the first four series (with the possible exception of "Backwards" and "Bodyswap"), plus "Holoship", "Back to Reality", "Stoke Me a Clipper" and "Blue".
