It's a whole lot of stuff to take in, isn't it? I always feel breathless. So much good Jim/Blair but all that kissing the evil, skanky Sentinel who murdered Blair Alex and standing passively by for just a moment too long as she points a gun at poor, betrayed Blair .

And so S4 begins. Rocky road ahead... thank God for fic, that's what I say.

Yeah, there was an awful lot of kissing Alex considering she totally killed Blair. I can understand why the intellectual knowledge that she has a can of world-killing gas might not penetrate the primal instinct to Protect (/Make Out With) Other Sentinel, but you'd think the Avenge Guide's Death instinct would kick in. Maybe Blair's being actually alive mitigates that somewhat.

Tangentially, how come Alex doesn't have a Protect the Tribe instinct? How are Sentinels chosen anyway? I thought Jim's desire to protect and serve and his Sentinel abilities informed each other somehow. It would still have been possible to make an evil/twisted Sentinel who did do the whole tribal protection thing, like a gang leader or mob boss or something.

Oh well. Missed opportunities is what fic is for, I guess.

They really didn't go into it at all, did they? I suppose the senses are there but what the child born with them is like, is up to him/her. Some are heroes, some are villains; some just do the job.

I always wonder why Brackett didn't do more with his knowledge and spill the beans once he was arrested.
