Who are the Goofus and Gallant?

They're in this magazine for children, Highlights. It's this comic strip to teach children manners. Goofus always does the wrong thing, like making a mess and being rude, and Gallant always does the right thing, like cleaning up and being helpful.

Obvs. they are star-crossed lovers.
