Dear yuletartist

Hi! Also have some hearts: <3 <3 <3 Thank you for making something for me. So basically in my request I said that I like "action/adventure, surrealism, and handmade art" and that is true of all of these fandoms, but I'll try to give you a little more to go on here, at least tell you what I like about the canon to give you a sense of tone or flavor. You do not have to use any of this if you have your own ideas--I love your own ideas. All of these are fandoms I feel so affectionately about that I'd be happy with anything in that universe.

Dragon Age: Origins Oh man I love this game. My Grey Warden is a male city elf rogue, with an emphasis on kicking-based attacks and the "violent" personality, with spiky blond hair and the name of Ray. (You don't have to incorporate him. I'm just letting you know... that I am a fannish nerd.) My favorite actual character is clearly Zevran. I would be interested in art which portrays Zevran alone, or an uneasy friendship between Zev and anybody, or explores Zevran's backstory (the leather boots, his work in the Crows, some past love affair...) I would be okay with something dark and angsty or which unapologetically shows his evil side, but I would also be okay with something happy and triumphant, Zev as hero.

Due South I'm a huge fan of Ray Kowalski's face. I slash Kowalski and Fraser, so something with the relationship would be good, but I would also be happy with something that was just about Ray, like a portrait or a backstory kind of thing. I love the working-class 1970s kitschy punk-rock kind of imagery of Ray's past. For a "present", Chicago kind of setting, I like Ray's extremes of kinetic energetic action (badguy-catching-action or making-out-action) and coffee-sipping chair-slumping laziness, and how both of those contrast with Fraser's perfect uprightness. I would also be happy with a post-COTW NWT setting with romantic arctic survival.

Final Fantasy 9 or 12 My favorite Final Fantasy games are 9 and 12. For 9, I love Zidane and his unexplained monkey tail, and I also love Beatrix. Anything with either of them would be good. I like the canon relationships fine, although my favorite relationship might be between Beatrix and the Save the Queen. For 12, I love Balthier. Oh man. He is so the leading man as far as I'm concerned. I also love the friendship between Balthier and Fran. One of my favorite images from the game is the two of them hovering around on that weird hover motorcycle thing.

Mighty Boosh I love both Vince and Howard--Vince's androgynous rockstar energy and irrepressible sunshineyness, and Howard's odd old-fashioned grandiosity and melancholy--and I love them together, either as friends or in a ridiculously romantic relationship (you know Howard would be super chivalrous). I love the storybook/fever dream insanity of the settings and the costumes and creatures and objects. I'd like anything that tied in with the monologues or song lyrics.

Slings and Arrows Darren Nichols is a favorite of mine of course, and I'd like a portrait or anything which focused on him in all his pretentious, heavily accessorized glory. I also like the idea of Geoffrey and Darren as a slash pairing, especially in the past (ie. college days, maybe the time of the first duel). I would also be happy with a Geoffrey-focused piece that showed his madness with the wild hair and ill-fitting sweaters and worrying razor blade.

Star Trek: TNG Gosh, I'd be happy with any number of things here: a celebration of (pick any): Picard's cerebral, dignified classiness; Riker's smugness; Data's humanity and kindness; Wesley's rainbow sweater. I don't actually have a major desire for a slashy bedroom scene here, since it's a show I liked when I was tiny, but I like the idea of Data and Geordi doing something chastely romantic, like having a picnic, or Picard and Riker doing something wink-wink and subtextual, like sharing an obnoxiously knowing smile on the bridge.

Star Trek: DS9 One word Bashir. Two words Bashir and Garak. From my LJ entry when I rediscovered this show several months ago: "Obvs Garak is very cheerful and fussy and always talking about clothes in a kind of stereotypically gay way, and I'm sure his constantly looking at Bashir like he wants to eat him up with a spoon is a deliberate character choice, but it's hard to explain why the ostensibly heterosexual Bashir is always staring at him with barely-contained fangirlish squee."

So yeah anything which captures that. I'd also be interested to see Bashir among Cardassians or learning about Cardassian culture. I like Garak as fashion designer and I'd like to get a better of idea of what his clothing designs are like. Alternatively, h/c in sickbay with Bashir and pretty much anyone.
